Duba Plains CampClassic

Six rooms on stilts with en-suite bathroom, veranda with an infinity view of the Okavango floodplains and extra outdoor shower. Pool near the main building.

The camp is situated on an exceptionally beautiful and green island in the Okavango Delta with paradisal tides around it.

Duba is famous for its domestic buffalo herds (close to 1000 animals) and their hunters, the lions, which follow the herds constantly. A classic game drive in Duba therefore means to look for buffalo herds and from there keeping a lookout for prides of lions. With luck, you will witness an impressive interaction between the two. The hyenas usually follow the lions... Besides, Duba also has many elephants, hippos and a great variety of birds.

Mainly game drives in open 4x4 vehicles.

Duba Plains is made world famous by the couple Beverly and Dereck Joubert, who, among other things, studied and filmed the native lions in the Duba Plains for over many years. With their relentless passion, some beautiful wildlife films were produced that are definitely worth seeing:

  • "Relentless Enemies", a documentary about lions and buffaloes in the eternal struggle between life and death.
  • "Eye of the Leopard", a fascinating and beautiful documentary which chronicles the life of a leopard in Mombo. The absolute masterpiece.
  • "Patterns in the Grass", which documents the zebra migration in Botswana.
