Nine spacious, beautiful rooms with en-suite bathroom, a big veranda, outdoor shower and a small outdoor lounge. The rooms are raised on stilts and are connected via walkways to the main building. The main building has two floors and is wonderfully designed. Two splash pools and boma for "Dinner Under the Stars".
Jao is located in a private reserve (63,000 hectares) in the northwestern part of the Okavango Delta. One goes to Jao especially for water activities, for the elegance of the camp, and because the camp is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the delta.
Various antelopes, elephants, buffaloes and wild cats. Resident leopards "Beauty" and "Motsumi". A funny mongoose family lives in the camp. Wonderful birdlife. Viewing platform about 20 minutes away from the camp.
70% water activities (traditional dugout canoe 'mokoro' and motorboat) and 30% game drives in open vehicles. Night drives. Bush walks. Fishing (catch & release). Day trips to Hunda Island (40 min boat ride then game drive with picnic).
Wine cellar. Gym. Salon, where massage and beauty treatment are offered. Entertainment room for DVD / photo presentations, etc. Excursions to the beautiful Hunda Island, a large arid area rich in wildlife which can also be accessible during high tide.
