Serra CafemaPremier

8 stylishly furnished, reed-covered cottages - built in the best spot in the area. The camp is situated on the banks of the Kunene River, the only permanent water source in this breathtaking desert landscape. The river forms the border with Angola.

Very remotely situated at the Skeleton Coast in the northwestern part of Namibia. The only inhabitants in this region are the occasional nomadic Himba, that is considered to be one of the last primitive tribes in Africa.

The animal observations are limited to mountain zebras, gemsboks, springboks, water birds and numerous occurring Nile crocodiles, which is not at all common in this desert region. With a bit of luck, you could even track some of the endemic reptiles such as the desert chameleon.

Nature drives, boat trips, guided walks, visiting the Himba people, if they are present in the area. Quad-bike excursions are also available, but pay attention to the protection of nature!

The focus of a visit to Serra Cafema is on the uniqueness of nature, one should not expect the "Big Five Safari". The unconventionality and contrast of water and desert overwhelm everyone.
