Horseback Safaris. It is amazing how close one can get to wild animals while on horseback. Only suitable for very safe riders. The safaris start in a base camp where the horses are selected and assigned to the guests. Depending on the duration of the safari, either one or two mobile, simple camps, where you will spend two or three nights, will be visited. Additional activities, dependent on the place of the safari, include game drives or trips by boat. We offer
horse safaris in South Africa in the Waterberg mountains, Kruger National Park or St. Lucia National Park by the sea. In Botswana, we also organize horseback safaris in the Tuli Block and of course as the highlight, a horse safari in the Okavango Delta.

Horse Back Safaris Drakensberg, South Africa
Drakensberg
The horse back safaris are situated on a private concession in the Karongwe Reserve in the vicinity of the Drakensberg and in close proximity to the famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. The 'Big Five Safari' starts every Saturday and includes 4 days in the main camp, an overnight stay in a mobile camp and two nights in neighboring Makalali Reserve at the beautiful Phiva luxury lodge. For a more luxurious variation, the mobile camp can be replaced by three nights in the luxurious Garonga safari camp. The reserve is home to the Big Five and a large number of antelopes, and it also offers an interesting birdlife.

Botswana - Horse riding Okavango Delta
Okavango Delta, 3 nights or more at Macatoo Camp
Macatoo Camp is situated on the western side of the Okavango Delta. The camp features seven large, comfortable twin bedded tents, each with their own en-suite bathroom. Centrally there is a large furnished mess tent and, tucked away, a private pool. Longer safaris may include a ride out to a mobile fly camp, with traditional bucket shower and loo. Macatoo Camp is open all year round. Riding groups will normally be no more than 7 guests. Riders should be aged 12 and over with very good riding abilities. They welcome non riding spouses/partners and children who can enjoy the many alternative activities on offer including game drives, seasonal boating, mokoro and fishing. Minimum stay 3 days.

Okavango Delta: 5, 7 or 10 nights from Kujwana camp
The camp is situated south west of Chiefs Island in the Okavango Delta. It accommodates a maximum of 8 to 12 guests in six spacious safari tents each with bathrooms en-suite. The main area overlooks the Xudum River. Itineraries are built around a 5, 7 or 10 nights with fixed departure dates. Between 4-6 hours are spent in the saddle while afternoons can be spent enjoying alternative activities including swimming, game drives, mokoros (traditional dug out canoe) or walking. Longer riding safaris include visits to a side camp (with tree houses) and a mobile camp (with dome-tents on the ground). Small riding group, maximum of 8 guests, good riding abilities are expected. Non riders can be accommodated.

The Tuli Block in southeast Botswana is famous for its beautiful scenery, with huge majestic baobab trees as a special feature. The Mashatu game reserve is situated on the border with South Africa and Zimbabwe, separated by the Limpopo river. The country is wild and untouched, covered with granite rocks and wonderful bush landscape, a paradise for wild cats and a large number of antelopes, as well as more than 350 species of birds. We offer the traditional 7-night Tuli Safari or the 'Big Five Safari', a combination of 4 days in South Africa and 4 nights in Botswana. Morning rides from the main camp or from Mashatu camp are conducted on request.
